Roslyn and Craig were the first couple to celebrate their wedding at Cairns Farm Estate.

Like so many couples, Roslyn and Craig had to push their wedding back several times due to covid restrictions.

Luckily, a stunning venue, a beautiful sunny day and lots of smiling guests made this May wedding worth the wait.

Getting Ready

Roslyn looked absolutely stunning in her sweetheart wedding dress with hair by stylist Jo Brown.

Simple but stylish, Roslyn paired her dress with a denim jacket for a relaxed feel.

The couple’s style matched perfectly with Cairn’s Farm’s chic but laid-back atmosphere. The venue balances tradition with a contemporary design, creating a comfortable space that’s bursting with charm.

The Ceremony

The marriage took place in our bright and airy ceremony room, a carefully designed space with large windows that let in tonnes of natural light and give views towards the West Lothian countryside.

Humanist celebrant Mo Ackroyd helped Roslyn and Craig tie the knot, with a moving service that ensured there was not a dry eye in the house.

Celebrations

Following an emotional ceremony, it was time to kick off the celebrations. Roslyn and Craig have a shared love of Piña Coladas, so caterers Hickory had one on hand for every guest when they arrived.

The stylish venue was kitted out with beautiful flowers by Lorraine Graham as well as sparkling signs and lighting.

The venue, a former sheep shed was lovingly converted into a spacious events venue by the estate’s owners, the Hamilton family. The refurbishment featured sustainable materials, including many of the shed’s original stone and timber from Sycamore and Scots Pine trees planted by Graham Hamilton’s great grandfather in the 19th century.

A mouth watering three-course meal was also served by Hickory, who worked closely with the couple to create a menu to remember.

Great food and drink was interspersed with touching speeches and lots of laughter.

Then, it was time for dancing. While Covid restrictions meant that guests couldn’t get their boogie on indoors, our outdoor area was the perfect place to keep the party going.

Photography and Videography

John Clark took care of the couple’s photography throughout the day, while Afterglow Wedding Films was on hand to create the couple’s wedding video.

The estate’s luscious green surroundings set over 1,200 acres meant they were spoilt for choice when deciding on backdrops for their shoots.

We love these photos of Roslyn and Craig walking into the sunset as a newly married couple, after celebrating their love with their closest friends and family.

Thoughts from the Cairns Farm Team

Alana Ross, Wedding Planner at Cairns Farm Estate, said:

“We think Roslyn and Craig’s big day was simply perfect. We wish the couple a big congratulations. It was an honour to host their wedding, and we’re so pleased that they chose to be the first couple to celebrate their special day with us.”
